Don’t you just love how the rich show off how rich they really are? Well that’s what Victorias Secret model Adriana Lima just did.
One of my favourite VS models has just spoiled herself-a lot- by buying a luxurious million dollar ‘super mini yacht’.
The model, who is ranked third on the Forbes list of the worlds richest models, was recently invited to the Fort Lauderdale International boat show. That’s where all the rich people show off their boats by the way.
I wonder how big her parties are gonna be in this boat, and which fellow VS model will be invited..
Can I come Adrianna??
Yes London Fashion Week was a success as always with a stunning finish from British heavyweights Burberry and the ever so elegant Tom Ford. Now we’re on the third fashion capital Milan. Who’s excited?!
Milan is well known to show elegance and sex appeal, while it may be targeting the strong and sexy Italian woman other woman have soon copied the elegant sex-appeal style held by Italians. It is also known for showcasing the best of the best when i comes to European fashion, designers such as Dolce and Gabbana, Versace, Missoni and Roberto Cavilli are just some of the Italian heavy weights who have the Milano fashion flag.
The first day (Wednesday 18th) saw No.21, Alberta Ferretti, and my all time fave Gucci. Gucci’s SS13/14 collection saw designer Frida Gianni go for a more relaxed approach when showcasing “The Gucci Woman”, we’re used to seeing the Gucci woman have sleek glossy hair and heavy make-up, but this time a new woman walked the runway on Wednesday. The models had barely- dry , scraped back hair and walked with very minimal make-up . Within the collection we saw a silhouette that had leather-edged trims and low -waisted dresses with deep Vs at the front AND back (very sexy)
Soon after Gucci the Caten twins, Dean and Dan took us on vacation with their collection and according to the twins, next summer’s fashion is gonna be hot hot and very hot also with a touch of 50′s flare added to it too. The new collection also provides us with super slender & elegantly shaped dresses and swimsuits. The models were styled with Bond-girl buoyant hair with huge hats to hide under and look glamours whilst sitting like diva pool side (LOVE!!!)
On the second day we saw more legends showcase their lines. People such as Ports 1961, Prada, MaxMara, Just Cavalli and Fendi. Now I am usually a fan of Just Calvali collection each season, as it is my chance to explore my sexy side, but i think this new collection was all types of the wrong sexy as Cavalli used probably every single pattern fabric available on one garment. You had everything from tarn, huge floral prints and metallic mixed into one- kinda scary I know, but luckily Roberto did show his softer side by showcasing a more subtle piece with one sheer chiffon slip which had tropical blooms flowering up on one side and another was sliced by leather panels (dear Lord)
All in all the past two days of MFW has shown the soft and craazy side of the week to come, lets hold out and see what the rest have to offer in the next up incoming days.
The ultimate world fashion world tour continues, now moving on to probably my favorite city LONDON!!!!
London is known for its weird, wacky and edgy fashion. With the awesome the awesome vibe of the city and the awesome people with great accents London is the place to be. The city is also known for establishing new and talented designers and bringing them to the fashion stage, it also hots some of Britain finest designers such Burberry, Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood and plenty more British royals in fashion.
The week started of on Friday right after NYFW with PPQ who collection was inspired by the “lady vamp” woman with designer Percy Parker going bold and vivid by using deep reds and sultry purples and paying homage to the Gothic 90′s fashion, which seems to be coming back into trend.
On Saturday we saw LFW local Julien Macdonald go very razzle-dazzle on the catwalk with his collection, which showed a lot of sparkle and sequence. Although he did have some trouble with the silhouette of some of his garment as some models found it hard to walk in his tight fitting creations which didn’t have a nicely cut hem hmmm not very function Julien. Aside from that the collection was very Gatsby inspired and looked great. another big gun of LFW was House of Holland, who also showed their collection on Saturday. Henry Holland’s collection was mixed with a touch of Mexico City and the easy cool vibe of Venice Beach by being bright colorful and fun- I mean its House of Holland when isn’t ever fun? The show also brought along some awesome guests which included Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof and Harry Styles enough said right there. Moving on to yesterdays shows. On the third day of the week the big guns were really starting o show with Johnathan Saunders, Vivienne Westwood showing off her Red Collection, Mulberry, Topshop’s runway label Unique and Temperley London. Temperley London describe her latest collection as “IT’s about complete romance; a Sicilian dream; a tropical mood in a Mediterranean environment” and that it was with gorgeous girly dresses which showed a more romantic side by using sweet girly colours such as raspberry, pinks and subtle purples which add a sweet and innocent flavour to the collection.
Excuse my long absence but I’m back to offer the latest fashion scopp from this weekend, here we go.
Friday 6th September
The BFC says “We’re not racist”
The British Fashion council has recently denied allegations that British fashion designers are not using a “good” amount of black models on the runway. The leading bodies of all four fashion capitals (Milan, New York, Paris and London) were sent out a letter from by The Diversity Coalition which is for fronted by former model and activist Bethann Hardison, listing “fashion houses guilty of these racist acts”.
The British council states that they ”not responsible for model casting at London fashion Week” and wanted to remind people about London’s huge multi-cultural environment an letting futer designers know that they ”should consider reflecting this demographic at their shows and presentations..”
What do you guys reckon should designers step up their “multi-cultural/ multi-ethnic” variety at their shows? I think YES (obviously) because stopping racism starts with the most watched industries in the world and fashion being one of them.
Saturday 7th September

On Sunday we see Victoria Beckham start the day by making a seasonal come back with her latest collection, she will be followed by Diane von Furstenberg and later on by my personal fave, Zac Posen. Then last but never least Opening Ceremony will close the fashion weekend fun.
I’m too excited I cant deal!!. Which one out of these designers are you excited to see this weekend?
Well that’s it for the weekend Elecats…
Hopefully I’ ll keep you updated with more scoop in the fashion world these next two weeks.
Jay Z has taken a very cool and unique approach in his debuting of his new single ‘Picasso Baby’. The rapper went on t create a 10 minute video showing the performance art of hip-hop and actual performing arts, he performed at the Pace Gallery in New York to a small intimate crowd of people ranging from different ages groups. The video, directed by Mark Romanek also included a variation of people such as artists, street performers, aspiring singers and actresses. It also included some familiar faces such as Taraji P. Henson and famous performance artist Marina Abromović, who Jay Z had an amazing and chilling connection with in the video.
The video definitely does break all the boundaries of what we consider Hip-Hop music today to be like, by mixing street style Brooklyn Rap with the finest artists from NYC, it’s a definite must watch.
At last Britain and the rest of the world celebrates on the much awaited arrival of the new heir to the throne.
The cute little bundle of joy was born July 22 and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge looked like the happiest parents in the world as they showed the new heir his new “subjects” yesterday in front of St. Mary’s Hospital in London, which is the same hospital where the little prince’s daddy was born.
Now as this is a fashion blog, what better thing than to talk about the Duchess’s maternity wear. Catherine wore a bespoke blue polka dot dress by Jenny Packham, along with her husband who was matching his wife by wearing a light blue crisp shirt . Could this have been their way of letting everyone they delivered a baby boy? (clever). Kate’s dress is also seen as a resemblance of Princess Diana’s dress that she wore when she showed Prince William off to the world in 1981. Once again, could this have been done as a homage to Princess Di (how very thoughtful of you Kate)
Further more the young royals have not yet revealed any names as of yet as Prince William stated to journalist outside the hospital “We are thinking of a name for him”
Whatever name they chose, we know for a fact that the baby price will make a big name for himself in the near future.
Congrats Will & Kate
Dolce & Gabbana have closed 9 of their Milan stores last weekend in protest of being “pilloried” (Abused) over tax evasion convictions.
The designers were sentenced to one year and eight months in prison in June, this decision is one that they are trying to appeal against, it’s quite funny that the two designers are deciding to appeal against their conviction because they know that they were in the wrong but just like every other celebrities they want to deny everything. This of course is a bad move for D&G as it’s just gonna give you more jail time or in their case, they were found guilty of evading taxes of €400 million (ooo Ouch!!).
At the moment doors currently show the message “CLOSED FOR INDIGNATION” along with a newspaper article. The 250 strong staff will continue to paid through the closures (LUCKY!!!)

When will famous people or people in the spotlight ever learn that they are not Superman and they can’t get away with things that easliy, maybe if they tried to act like as mere mortals this situation would have never occurred.
But good luck to the legendary duo…their gonna need it
British supermodel Lily Cole has made her entrance into jewellery design, creating a line of pendants, rings and bracelets. The collection which was launched today in partnership with skylistpick.com, is made using Amazonian wild rubber (ooo how dance Lily!!…)
The model was approached by Sky Rainforest Rescue last year with the offer of visiting Brazil to experience wild rubber taping. The idea of creating a fashion collection from raw material soon followed l, something which appealed to Cole’s interest in finding trade as oppose to aid solutions for global climate issues.
She told Vogue UK “For me,the collection is a metaphor of what is possible. I hope we can use material in many other products in the future”
The 25 year old was involved with the entire design process, from sourcing the rubber through to the final product. Her inspiration for the collection was gained from an old pendant she owns from Africa (REPRESENT!!) which contained a prayer encased inside the metal.
Lily Cole is the ambassador for Sky Rainforest Rescue, which is an initiative created by Sky and WWF. With their aim to save a billion trees in the Amazon rainforest, Cole rallied up fellow climate campaigner Vivienne Westwood to join the project
*Sighs* don’t you just live it when celebs do good for our planet, gives merge fuzzies and almost makes me want to be a Vegan for a day
